Lagos Ministry of Education Dispel Schools’ Resumption Rumours

Following rumours full resumption date for Primary and Secondary Schools in Lagos State making the rounds, the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) Unit of the Lagos State Ministry of Education has warned the public to disregard a resumption timetable in the social media, The Nation reports.

The timetable, which claims to be the 2020/2021 academic calendar, states that the first term of the session will start on September 21 and end on December 18.  Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said last weekend that the resumption date he announced was tentative.

The purported calendar gives January 11, 2021 and May 3 as the start dates for second and third terms.

However, a statement yesterday by OEQA spokesman Emmanuel Olaniran said the calendar did not emanate from his office.
