The body of Nigeria’s flying officer and first female Combat Helicopter pilot, Tolulope Arotile, has been laid to rest.
Arotile who until her demise in a freak accident, was a decorated Nigerian Air Force fighter pilot. She was buried at the military cemetery in Abuja,Thursday, amid tears.
The 24-year-old flying officer was hit by a car driven by an old classmate who was said to have been in reverse to say hello and she died after sustaining head injury within the base in Kaduna.
Present during the burial was the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Abubakar Sadique; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello and his wife; the House Committee Chairman on Air Force, Bala Ib’n Nalla and the family members of the deceased.
Investigations are still underway into her death with the driver already identified and may be charged to court.
